Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This policy describes what data the iVisionGuard Android app uses, where that data is kept and who can see it. It applies to app version 2.0.1 and later. Section 13 covers this website.

iVisionGuard is developed by EWIN Codes (“we”, “us”). For privacy questions, write to privacy@ivisionguard.com.

In short

  • The app does not send your data to us. We run no servers for the app.
  • Camera frames are analyzed in memory on your phone and then discarded. They never leave the phone, and the app does not save photos or video from the camera.
  • The microphone is used only when you record a voice alert yourself. The app gets a photo only when you pick one for the overlay alert. Both stay on the phone.
  • The app has no account, no advertising, and no analytics or crash reporting of its own.
  • Two Google libraries in the app, ML Kit and Play Billing, send Google technical diagnostics about how they work (section 6).
  • Payments go through Google Play. We never see your card details.
  • What the app saves stays in its private storage on your phone. Android can back up your settings to your Google account (section 7).

1. Camera

iVisionGuard uses the front camera to estimate how far your face is from the screen. The face detection model (Google ML Kit) is built into the app and runs on your phone.

  • Each frame is processed in memory on the phone to find a face and measure its size, then discarded. Frames are not sent anywhere.
  • The app does not record photos or video and does not keep camera frames.
  • The app detects that a face is in the frame. It does not recognize who the person is and does not create face templates.
  • While monitoring is on, Android shows a permanent notification. Monitoring stops when the screen is off and pauses during phone and video calls.

Calibration uses the camera in the same way. The app keeps only the measured distance as your alert threshold and the date of the last calibration.

To pause during calls, the app checks the phone’s audio mode (for example, “in call”). It does not read phone numbers, call history or call audio, and it does not request the phone permission.

2. Microphone

The app asks for microphone access only when you start recording a custom voice alert in the Sound alert settings. Everything else works without this permission.

  • A recording is up to 3 seconds long.
  • It is saved as an audio file in the app’s private storage. The Adult and Child profiles each have their own recording.
  • The app plays the recording when a sound alert goes off. The microphone is not used at any other time.
  • You can replace the recording by recording a new one. To delete it, clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.

3. Photos

You can choose a picture to show in the full-screen overlay alert. The app opens the Android photo picker, so it receives only the picture you select and cannot see the rest of your gallery. The app does not request storage or media permissions.

  • A copy of the selected file is saved in the app’s private storage, one per profile. The copy is exact, so it keeps any metadata stored in the file, such as the date or place the photo was taken.
  • The picture is shown only in the overlay alert on your phone.
  • You can replace or delete it in the overlay alert settings.

4. Purchases

iVisionGuard Plus is sold as a subscription or a one-time purchase through Google Play Billing.

  • Google processes the payment under the Google Privacy Policy. Neither the app nor we receive your card details, and the app does not receive your name or email address.
  • The app gets the purchase status from the Google Play Store app: your plan, the purchase date, the renewal or expiry date, whether a free trial is active, and a purchase token issued by Google.
  • The app stores this status on your phone, encrypted with a key from Android Keystore, so Plus features keep working offline. It checks the status with Google Play again from time to time.
  • Google Play Console shows us order records, such as the order number, product, price and date. We use them to handle refunds.

To cancel a subscription, open Subscriptions in Google Play.

5. What the app stores on your phone

  • Settings: minimum distance, alert settings, language, active profile and power-saving mode.
  • Profile names, if you rename the Adult or Child profile.
  • Parental lock: your PIN and whether unlocking with a fingerprint or face is allowed. Android performs the biometric check itself; the app learns only whether it succeeded and never receives fingerprint or face data.
  • Monitoring statistics for each profile: minutes of monitoring per hour, the number of alerts, how many 5-minute periods passed without an alert, and your day streak. Statistics contain no images and no log of distance readings. Records older than 13 months are deleted automatically.
  • The voice recording and the overlay picture, if you added them.
  • The purchase status (section 4) and the date of the last calibration.

This data is kept in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. We do not receive a copy.

6. Internet access and third parties

The app has the internet permission, but iVisionGuard’s own code does not send data anywhere.

  • We do not operate servers that collect data from the app.
  • The app contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services of its own.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your data.

Two Google libraries built into the app need the internet: ML Kit, which detects faces, and Google Play Billing, which handles purchases. They send Google technical diagnostics about how they work:

  • device information: manufacturer, model, Android version and build;
  • the app’s package name and version;
  • a per-installation identifier, which Google says is not intended to identify you or your device;
  • performance and usage data, such as processing time, library settings, event types and error codes.

These reports contain no camera images, no distance readings and nothing you record or pick in the app. Google uses them for diagnostics and usage analytics. For ML Kit, Google states that the data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and is not transferred to third parties; see the ML Kit data disclosure. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy, and we do not receive it.

7. Backup and moving to a new phone

If Android backup is turned on, Android may save part of the app’s data to your Google account. Google stores these backups under the Google Privacy Policy, and we have no access to them.

  • The Google backup includes: settings and the calibration date.
  • The Google backup excludes: the PIN, profile names, monitoring statistics, the voice recording, the overlay picture and the purchase status. After you reinstall the app, statistics start from zero, the voice recording and picture need to be added again, and the purchase status is restored from Google Play.

When you copy data straight from an old phone to a new one during setup, the PIN, profile names, statistics, voice recording and overlay picture are copied as well. The purchase status is restored from Google Play.

You can turn off backup or delete backups in the Google section of your phone’s settings.

8. Other permissions

  • Notifications: show that monitoring is running and deliver alerts.
  • Vibration: vibration alerts.
  • Display over other apps: the full-screen overlay alert on top of other apps.
  • Modify system settings: dim the screen as an alert.
  • Ignore battery optimizations and run at startup: keep monitoring running and resume it after the phone restarts.
  • Foreground service with camera access: lets monitoring continue while you use other apps.

9. Children

iVisionGuard has a Child profile that a parent sets up and can lock with a PIN. We do not collect personal information from anyone, children included: the app has no account and sends nothing to us. A child’s profile name, statistics, and any voice recording or picture added for the Child profile stay on the phone, as described in sections 5 and 7. The Google diagnostics in section 6 are the same for every profile and contain none of this.

10. Keeping and deleting data

We hold none of your app data, so there is nothing to delete on our side. On your phone:

  • Delete the overlay picture in the overlay alert settings, or clear a profile name in settings.
  • Statistics older than 13 months are deleted automatically.
  • To remove all app data, including the voice recording, clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.
  • Manage backups in your Google account settings.
  • Google keeps purchase records and the diagnostics from section 6 under its own policies.

11. Security

App data lives in Android’s private app storage, which is isolated from other apps. The purchase status is encrypted with an Android Keystore key. The PIN, profile names, statistics, voice recording and overlay picture are excluded from cloud backup.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation or California privacy law give you the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. The app’s data stays on your phone and is not sent to us, so you can view and delete it yourself as described in section 10. Requests about the diagnostics in section 6 go to Google, because we do not receive that data. For any other request, write to privacy@ivisionguard.com.

13. This website

ivisionguard.com uses Google Analytics, connected through Google Site Kit, to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address and browser details under the Google Privacy Policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings. The app does not use Google Analytics.

14. Changes to this policy

If a new version of the app changes how it handles data, for example by sending data to our own servers, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top.
